Identity Crisis

Oftentimes most of us look at the world around us and try, to various degrees of success, to fit what we see into something that would make sense to us. Many ideas have been bandied about of why this or why that and most of us get bogged down in the minutia of the details, losing sight of the larger picture, the end game.

There are, in my opinion, two main ideas that all of us must keep in front of us: one that is old and has been around since the first country formed and that idea is nationalism. Nationalism is defined as - Nationalism is a shared group feeling in the significance of a geographical and sometimes demographic region seeking independence for its culture or ethnicity that holds that group together. This can be expressed as a belief or political ideology that involves an individual identifying with or becoming attached to one's nation.

The second one - globalism - while being a lofty idea, has never been possible until now: Globalism is defined as - the liberal authoritarian desire for a "one world" view that rejects the important role of nations in protecting values and encouraging productivity.

In my opinion, this is the nut within the shell that plagues all of us today. On the one hand we have the liberals who view the world as one organism and their long-term agenda has been to position our nation in a place, economically, socially, and spiritually, that would allow us to become just one more cog, in many, of a one world order. All you have to do is look at the overall picture of the last eight years of the Obama administration from this perspective. If you see something different, tell me I am wrong (I am not, however).

On the other hand, many of us conservatives, while not recognizing the path for what it is, intuitively feel the hairs standing on our neck of the wrongness of the current path we are on and are trying, without much success, to change the course. The hardest thing conservatives, like us, have is the lack of recognition most in our nation have of the path we are on. Whether it is from indifference or something else we can all agree the breakdown of the moral values this nation once had has a direct correlation to our plight facing us now.

Our federal representatives see this, of course. But, the lure of money/self interest has poisoned their word to us to look after their constituents interest; a systemic problem across the whole party spectrum.

We must look elsewhere, if we are to right the course our nation is steering. Men and women, independent of the party structure, full of faith and moral courage will have to decide to stand and wrestle our nation back from the jaws of the liberal, progressive movement. While we, as the voting public will have to get beyond our biases to vote along party lines and actually look at the candidates and vote for the best person.

The time is now.
