Kum ba yah Syndrome
Can we be both “America First” and still participate on the worlds stage?
John McCain believes that taking care of our people first and foremost is counterproductive to the participation in connecting the world through progressive globalization efforts.
“To fear the world we have organized and led for three-quarters of a century, to abandon the ideals we have advanced around the globe, to refuse the obligations of international leadership and our duty to remain ‘the last best hope of earth’ for the sake of some half-baked, spurious nationalism cooked up by people who would rather find scapegoats than solve problems, is as unpatriotic as an attachment to any other tired dogma of the past that Americans consigned to the ash heap of history,” McCain said.
Apparently, John McCain has lost and maybe never had that sense of patriotism that has made America what it is today.
‘Lead by example’. America has always been the envy of the world. We are multi-cultural in scope, accepting people from all walks of life, from all over the world. We are the ‘place people want to live’ and our way of life is something people the world over strives to obtain for themselves. And yet, people, like John McCain, fail to recognize this importance our society sets as the shining light on this little world of ours.
John McCain, and those like him, wish to transform and tear down this beacon to the world and make us into ‘just another cog on the worlds stage’.
McCain’s thinking is skewed and has been for many years. The world would do well to emulate us; not the other way around. We have to take care of ‘us first’ to remain that beacon to the world and we will have more influence in the world’s governance when we do. Progressives, such as McCain, do not understand people and governments thought processes in general to believe our world is ready for globalization. NK, Iran and many other trouble spots in this world of ours, both in the present and throughout history, is proof positive that a weak nation, ready to sale its soul to belong to the worlds stage, will fall to those who don’t believe in the kum ba yah syndrome.
We need people who will put America First; and the world will be better for it!
